PTSA News Update
Sally Foster delivery:
The Sally Foster products will be delivered to Nightingale Middle School on Monday, November 24. Pick up orders from Room 243 after school.
At the November Association Meeting the following PTSA Board positions were ratified:
Mrs. Sharon Ayala, President
Mrs. Beatrice Portillo, Vice-President Membership
Mr. Sean Dam, Financial Secretary
Mr. Joseph Yenovkian, Teacher Representative
Mrs. Villafana, Reflections Chair
Mrs. Maria Rosas, Founder’s Day Chair
Congratulations to all new Board Members.
Students who wish to participate in the Reflections Art Contest can come to Room 243 to request art supplies and receive the permission slip and rules. Submissions are due on December 10, 2008 in Room 243. The attachment below has all the information you need as well.
The Reflections Art Competiton is sponsored by National PTA. Winners at each level are moved up to the next higher level of competition until a national winner is named for each division and each category. Nightingale winners will compete at Tenth District where a Reception will be held for the artists in January. Winners at Tenth District go on to the State competition. Winners at State are forwarded to the National PTA competition.
Artists compete in the following categories: Literature, visual arts, film production, dance choreography, music composition and photography.
The top three winners at Nightingale will receive monetary prizes: First place: $50; Second Place: $35; Third Place: $25.

the Bylaws will be updated this year toa conform to changes at the State PTA level. Members of the Bylaws Committee are: Mrs. Lopez, Mrs. Villafana, Mrs. Pitones, Mrs. Portillo, and Mrs. Mason.
The next meeting of the PTSA Association is December 2, 2008 at 5:30 pm in the School Cafeteria. Potluck dinner will be served and all are welcome.
